Under Colorado law HB24-1286, the Equal Justice Authority collects and manages a small fee from civil cases filed in district and county courts.
Each year on July 1, these funds are awarded as grants to qualified civil legal aid providers across Colorado.
Grant Process & Timeline
The 2026 grant application period is now closed. Thank you to all organizations that submitted applications. The Equal Justice Authority appreciates the dedication of Colorado's legal aid providers and the important work they do to ensure equal access to justice.
The next grant application cycle will open in Spring 2027. Updates, application materials, and important deadlines will be posted here when they become available.
