About

Our Mission

Our Work

Under Colorado law HB24-1286, the Equal Justice Authority collects and manages a small fee from civil cases filed in district and county courts.

Each year on July 1, these funds are awarded as grants to qualified civil legal aid providers across Colorado.

Our Values

The Equal Justice Authority is committed to the principle that all Coloradans deserve fair and equal access to justice. We advance the mission of our authorizing statute by managing funds with integrity, transparency, and accountability and distributing grants to qualified civil legal aid providers whose efforts increase access to justice and improve court efficiency.
